Uba Sani Accelerates Education Reform with 102 New Schools, 170 Renovations Across Kaduna State
Governor Uba Sani has intensified efforts to transform the education sector in Kaduna State with the groundbreaking for 102 new schools and the renovation of 170 existing ones, a move aimed at tackling the challenge of out-of-school children and expanding access to quality learning across communities.
The ceremony held in Rigasa signals a new phase of the administration’s education expansion programme designed to strengthen grassroots learning infrastructure and provide safer, more inclusive classrooms for pupils.
Since assuming office, Governor Sani’s administration has constructed 62 new schools in its first year and added another 50 in the second phase, while the Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board has overseen the construction of 736 classrooms and renovation of 1,220 others across the state.
The government has also improved school safety and welfare through perimeter fencing in 39 schools, the construction of 595 VIP toilets, and the installation of 165 boreholes to enhance sanitation and access to clean water.
To promote inclusive learning, the state has established four bilingual education schools in Igabi, Zaria, Kubau, and Giwa, currently serving about 7,680 learners, while 81,540 pieces of school furniture have been distributed to improve classroom comfort.
Beyond basic education, the administration has launched nine vocational centres across the state to equip youths with practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship.
The massive investment underscores Governor Sani’s commitment to human capital development, grassroots inclusion, and building a stronger future for Kaduna’s next generation.
