The Citizens Support for Good Governance (CSGG) wishes to address the disturbing narratives currently circulating in parts of the media and on social platforms concerning the recent terrorist attack in Ngoshe, Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

While the tragic loss of gallant Nigerian soldiers and the suffering of innocent civilians remain deeply painful to every patriotic citizen, it is important that such difficult moments are not exploited to spread misinformation or undermine the integrity of the nation’s security leadership.

CSGG extends its deepest condolences to the families of the brave soldiers who paid the supreme sacrifice while defending the territorial integrity of Nigeria. Their courage and commitment represent the highest ideals of patriotism, and their sacrifices will never be forgotten.

At the same time, we strongly caution against the deliberate politicization of security incidents through unverified battlefield accounts designed to discredit national leadership or weaken public confidence in the Armed Forces.

The Honourable Minister of Defence, Christopher Gwabin Musa, has demonstrated throughout his distinguished career an unwavering dedication to the protection of Nigeria and the professionalism of the Armed Forces. His leadership continues to strengthen operational coordination among the military services and reinforce Nigeria’s strategic response to terrorism and insurgency.

General Musa’s integrity, discipline, and commitment to duty remain widely respected both within the military establishment and among patriotic Nigerians who recognize the complexity of the security challenges confronting the nation.

Equally important is the consistent political support provided by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose administration has placed national security at the forefront of its governance agenda. Through renewed investment in defence capabilities, improved welfare for personnel, and strengthened international security partnerships, the Tinubu administration continues to demonstrate a clear commitment to restoring peace and stability across the country.

It must be emphasized that terrorism thrives not only through violence but also through propaganda and psychological warfare aimed at weakening public trust in national institutions. For this reason, responsible public communication is critical at a time when our troops remain actively engaged in protecting the nation.

CSGG therefore calls on citizens, media organizations, and political actors to exercise caution and patriotism by refraining from spreading narratives that may inadvertently embolden enemies of the state or demoralize the brave men and women on the frontlines.
Our Armed Forces deserve our collective support, encouragement, and respect as they continue their difficult mission of safeguarding the lives and freedoms of Nigerians.

CSGG reaffirms its full confidence in the leadership of the Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), and reiterates its support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the ongoing efforts to defeat terrorism and secure the nation.
Nigeria has overcome enormous challenges in the past, and with unity, responsible leadership, and the courage of our security forces, the nation will once again prevail.
