Group Describes MS Abubakar’s Revelation as “Enlightening” and Commends the Defence Minister’s Loyalty, Competence, and Strategic Leadership

A powerful wave of positive reactions has trailed the thought-provoking opinion piece titled “The Vindication of General Christopher G. Musa, CFR: Duty, Integrity, and the Price of Service” authored by Mr. MS Abubakar, with the influential socio-political support base, Friends of CG Musa Social Media Platform, describing the intervention as an enlightened revelation and a timely setting of records straight.

The Platform, a growing community of young professionals, veterans, community leaders, women groups, and supporters of the Honorable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, CFR, across Northern Nigeria and the diaspora, said the author has captured the true essence of the man Nigerians now see at the centre of the nation’s security architecture.

The Platform said Abubakar’s piece correctly contextualizes the two major storms that tried the General’s character and proved his psychological intelligence as a supportive leader to Mr. President.

On the 2023 ECOWAS Niger Crisis: The Platform recalled that as Chief of Defence Staff, General Musa was merely executing the lawful directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as ECOWAS Chairman, to prepare for restoration of constitutional order in Niger Republic after the ouster of President Mohamed Bazoum.

“For carrying out a constitutional duty, he was unfairly vilified with dangerous ethno-religious coloration, particularly linking him to Southern Kaduna history. The author was right – General Musa absorbed it with uncommon emotional maturity. He did not react, he did not grandstand. He protected the Presidency from distraction. On the No-Negotiation Stand on Banditry: The Platform scored the Minister 100% on conviction and foresight. It noted that General Musa’s long-held position that Nigeria must never negotiate with terrorists and bandits.

“…a position that some analysts suggest may have contributed to his retirement at the time but now appears, to many supporters, to be consistent with the Tinubu administration’s hardline approach to combating criminality.”
