Nigeria’s history is filled with men and women whose courage, sacrifice and commitment helped shape the nation we know today. From the political and democratic struggles of the great Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto, and Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Nigerians have continued to draw lessons about patriotism, leadership, national unity and service to humanity.
These great Nigerians stood at critical moments in our history and contributed immensely to the struggle for independence, national development and the shaping of Nigeria’s political consciousness.
Today, in the 21st century, we are witnessing another chapter in Nigeria’s story—a chapter in which a distinguished military officer has moved from the military environment into a broader national conversation about security, peace, national integration and the future of our country.
That name is General Christopher Gwabin Musa.
For years, General CG Musa has devoted himself to the fight against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other threats to Nigeria’s national security. His commitment has gone beyond the wearing of a military uniform. It has reflected a deep sense of duty to Nigeria and a determination to contribute to the preservation of the country’s unity.
His story reminds us that patriotism is not merely about occupying an office. It is about sacrifice, courage, responsibility and the willingness to stand for the greater good even when the circumstances are difficult.
There is something particularly instructive about General CG Musa’s disposition: courage in the face of adversity.
The biblical story of Joshua provides a powerful metaphor. Joshua was repeatedly encouraged to be strong and courageous because the task before him was greater than his personal comfort. His responsibility was to lead, protect and preserve a people.
In much the same spirit, the courage we associate with General CG Musa can be understood through his love for Nigeria and his commitment to its security and unity.
When a nation produces individuals who are prepared to sacrifice personal comfort for national stability, such individuals deserve recognition. They should become symbols of what is possible when patriotism is placed above personal interest.
For us, the Friends of CG Musa, this recognition is not simply about celebrating an individual. It is about celebrating the values we believe he represents—national unity, courage, service, security, discipline and hope for a better Nigeria.
We acknowledge the economic value, political capital and social influence that General CG Musa represents in the national conversation. More importantly, we recognise the potential of such leadership to inspire Nigerians to believe again in the possibility of a united and prosperous country.
That is why our support goes beyond words.
We have resolved to take our message directly to the people.
Fuska da fuska. Ido da ido. Mutum da mutum.
Door to door. Face to face. Individual to individual.
Particularly in Kaduna State, and especially across Southern Kaduna, we intend to engage citizens, listen to them, explain our convictions and encourage them to participate actively in the democratic process.
Our political commitment is clear: we will support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, because we believe that continuity, stability and sustained development require citizens to participate in the democratic process and make informed choices.
We are not pretending that Nigeria’s challenges have disappeared.
We know the economic hardship is real. We know that many families are struggling. We know that the task before government is enormous.
But difficult times should not make us abandon hope.
Instead, they should strengthen our determination to demand better governance, support meaningful reforms and remain committed to building a country where the sacrifices of today produce opportunities for tomorrow.
We therefore commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the efforts being made to reposition Nigeria’s economy and strengthen the foundations for sustainable development. We recognise that transforming a country as complex as Nigeria is neither immediate nor easy.
The Renewed Hope Agenda must therefore remain a project of perseverance, accountability and collective responsibility.
Our message to Nigerians is simple:
Let us remain focused. Let us remain strong. Let us remain resolute.
Let us build relationships beyond tribe, ethnicity, religion, colour and political differences.
Let us recognise those who dedicate themselves to the defence and unity of Nigeria.
Let us encourage leadership that promotes peace rather than division, development rather than despair, and national interest rather than narrow personal ambition.
The greatness of Nigeria will not be built by government alone. It will be built by citizens who believe that this country is worth defending, worth improving and worth passing on to the next generation.
The Friends of CG Musa therefore stand not merely as admirers of one man, but as advocates of a larger ideal: a peaceful, secure, prosperous and united Nigeria.
We believe that men and women who dedicate themselves to the nation should be encouraged, recognised and celebrated.
And we believe that our generation has a responsibility to contribute its own chapter to the Nigerian story.
From the generation of Awolowo, Zik, Sardauna and Tafawa Balewa, we inherited a Nigeria struggling to define itself.
From the sacrifices of our armed forces, we inherited a Nigeria that has continued to defend its territorial integrity.
From today’s leaders, we demand a Nigeria that can provide security, opportunity, dignity and hope.
And from our own generation, history will ask:
What did we do when Nigeria needed us?
Our answer must be clear.
We stood for Nigeria.
We stood for peace.
We stood for unity.
We stood for hope.
And we stood, with conviction, for a Nigeria that must ultimately succeed.
So we submit.
Signed
Friends of CG MUSA Door To Door Campaign For Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani 2027.
