Advisory Committee Hails Former Kaduna Governor as Statesman of Integrity, Civility and Democratic Service
The Friends of CG Musa Social Media Platform, a prominent support platform for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda, has joined President Tinubu and Nigerians across the country in celebrating former Kaduna State Governor and former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, as he clocks 70.
In a statement signed by the Advisory Committee of the Friends of CG Musa Social Media Platform, comprising Hon. Saidu Adamu, former Commissioner for Information, Kaduna State; Mr. Ephraim Sheyin; and Hon. Victor Mathew Bobai, the platform described Senator Makarfi as an accomplished public servant and statesman whose decades of service have earned him a distinguished place in Kaduna State and Nigeria’s political history.
The statement follows President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s congratulatory message to Senator Makarfi, in which the President described the former governor as a “quintessential public servant and statesman” whose life has been defined by integrity and exemplary leadership.
President Tinubu, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on August 7, 2026, congratulated Senator Makarfi on his 70th birthday and commended his contributions as Commissioner for Finance in Kaduna State, Governor of Kaduna State, Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and former National Chairman of the PDP.
The Friends of CG Musa Advisory Committee said the platform was particularly pleased to join the President and Nigerians in honouring Senator Makarfi because his birthday represents an opportunity to celebrate public service, democratic values, political civility and national contribution beyond partisan boundaries.

The Advisory Committee acknowledged Senator Makarfi’s reputation for calm political engagement, dialogue and commitment to democratic ideals, describing these qualities as important virtues for Nigeria’s emerging generation of political leaders.
According to the committee, political differences should never prevent Nigerians from recognising distinguished contributions to public service.
TINUBU’S MESSAGE OF POLITICAL CIVILITY
The platform also commended President Tinubu for extending warm birthday wishes to Senator Makarfi, noting that the gesture reinforces the principle that national service and respect for accomplished Nigerians should transcend political party affiliations.
The Advisory Committee said President Tinubu’s message provides an important example of how Nigerian politicians can disagree politically while maintaining mutual respect and civility.
“Senator Makarfi has participated in several important chapters of Nigeria’s democratic development and has served Kaduna State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria in various capacities. At 70, his experience remains valuable to the country,” the committee stated.
The platform further encouraged younger Nigerians in public life to embrace responsible political engagement, dialogue, tolerance and commitment to the national interest.
A LEGACY WORTH CELEBRATING
The Friends of CG Musa Social Media Platform said Senator Makarfi’s journey from Commissioner for Finance to Governor of Kaduna State, Senator and national political leader reflects decades of involvement in public affairs and democratic governance.
The committee therefore joined family members, friends, political associates, former colleagues and Nigerians from across the political divide in wishing the former governor a joyous 70th birthday.
The platform prayed that Almighty Allah would grant Senator Makarfi many more years in good health, wisdom, peace and strength, while continuing to benefit from his experience and contributions to Nigeria and humanity.
