PRIVILEGE MAGAZINE ANNOUNCES 15TH EDITION OF NIGERIAN LEADERSHIP AWARD 2026

Public Lecture to Examine Nigeria’s Security Architecture and the 2027 General Election

KADUNA, NIGERIA — Privilege Communications Nigeria Limited, publishers of Privilege Magazine, has announced the 15th Edition of the Nigerian Leadership Award (NLA 2026) and a public lecture scheduled for Sunday, November 1, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in Kaduna State.

The event, themed “Nigerian Security Architecture and the 2027 General Election,” will bring together political leaders, academics, policymakers, media professionals and members of the public to discuss national security, democratic governance and Nigeria’s political future.

TOP AWARDS

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, will be honoured as Nigerian Governor of the Year, while General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd.), Minister of Defence, will receive the Nigerian Man of the Year Award.

The programme will also feature the Nigerian Legislator of the Year Award, proposed for Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.

Other categories include Nigerian Commissioner of the Year, Woman Politician of the Year, Youngest Politician of the Year and Most Supportive Entrepreneur of the Year.

PUBLIC LECTURE AND DISCUSSION

The public lecture will be delivered by Professor Dogara Mato of Kaduna State University, while Dr Julius Samson of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, will summarise the presentation.

Mr Ephraim Sheyin, former Editor-in-Chief of the News Agency of Nigeria, and Asabe Ladan will serve as rapporteurs.

The lecture will examine Nigeria’s security challenges, the effectiveness of security institutions, electoral security and the role of political leadership in promoting peace and democratic stability.

A major highlight will be a comparative discussion addressing the question: “Who Should Nigerians Vote for in 2027?”

The discussion will examine the leadership records, policy positions and approaches to national security of the presidential contenders identified for the programme. It is intended to encourage informed public engagement and analytical assessment beyond partisan rhetoric.

The organisers believe the occasion will provide an important platform for citizens to examine the relationship between leadership, security, economic development and credible elections ahead of 2027.

Members of the public, civil society organisations, traditional and religious leaders, youth groups and other stakeholders are invited to participate.
